The Who’s and the Whats
About me, here it goes. My name is Samantha, I go by Sam, I’ll be 30 way to soon. I love random trivia, volleyball, most 80′s movies and anything that doesn’t require me to sit for long periods of time My husband, Tyler, and I have been together 10 years, married for almost 6. We have a 2 year old little girl, Berlin, who was born the day after Christmas 2006. She is a hoot, as most parents will tell you when talking about their own kids. We have 4 dogs and 3 cats, yes it’s true we are nuts. We have a Newfoundland named Merlin and 3 Daschunds, wiener dogs, Pudden, Wally and Doodle. Our cats are a crazy blend of rescue cats, Bing, Screw ball and Rufus aka Roofie. This is our crazy family, 3 with thumbs and 7 without.
As a family we spend a lot of time hiking in the hills around our house, Berlin is always looking for animals and picking flowers. We spend a lot of time outdoors in general gardening, playing, hiking, running etc. This is a way for us to excape from the crazy day and the world in general. Anything seems possible when your out in the fresh air.
Green as Wee Grow was an idea we had come up with in 2003, and that’s all it was until 2006. As I said anything is possible when your in the fresh air, and that’s where we were when we decided that we would take a chance on our idea. While we were hiking in the hills, my husband and I were discussing what we wanted to do when we “grew up”, our daughter was just a few days old so we thought we might need a plan. We figured now was as good a time as any to take the chance on something that was close to our hearts. When we got home we sat down and wrote our first, of many, business plans and 3 years later here we are.
I won’t bore anyone with how or why we started living organic, but yes we are very eco conscience and practise what we preach. I look forward to sharing my favorite green tips and ideas with you as well as hearing from you about your favorite green things. If you’ve read this far I will bore you with the fact that my husband graduated from college with an environmental science degree, and I was brought up by parents who grew/raised the majority of our food. If you would like to know anything else about me please feel free to comment or contact me and I’d be happy to share.
